Youth Fellowship [YF] is a weekly program for young people aged 11+ and we meet every Sunday evening at 8pm in the upper room. This space is for Christians who want to grow in their faith and for those who want to hear more about what it means to follow Jesus.
A typical night of YF looks like this:
8.00pm – Welcome and time to chat in coffee bar
8.15pm – Games in sports hall
8. 30pm – Games in upper room [Gameshows, eating/physical challenges etc.] 8.40pm – Announcements
8.45pm – Interview with young person/leader
8.50pm – Praise
9.05pm – Message
9.20pm – Praise
9.30pm – Close & downstairs for supper
As far as we are concerned YF has three main elements:
The Bible is an amazing book with the power to transform and equip us for the Christian life. God has spoken and we want to give young people the space to listen to Him, to ask questions and to wrestle with the Scriptures.
At the moment we are working through the Gospel of John, an eye-witness account of Jesus’ life and ministry and a book written for a very specific purpose:
Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
John 20: 30-31
Young people this is what we want for you — that you would believe Jesus is the Son of God and have life in his name. We also want you to be able to read God’s Word yourself so please click here for some practical tips on how to read and understand the Bible.
We also spend time each week praising God because we believe he is worthy of our worship and we want to create an environment where young people feel free to praise Him. On the last Sunday of each month we have ‘Radiant’, a night designed to help you engage with God through praise and prayer.
In Hebrews 10: 25 the Bible commands us to encourage one another by continuing to meet together. We see YF as a community of young people who meet every week to encourage one another as we study the Bible and praise God together.
